Camel Audio Junkie XL: Future Oldskool Sample Library Features Sound Set By Junkie XL

February 22, 2010
Camel Audio and producer and remixer Junkie XL collaborated on the new Junkie XL: Future Oldskool sound library.

Introduced by Camel Audio and created by none other than producer and remixer Junkie XL, Junkie XL: Future Oldskool ($59) is a hardcore collection of sounds including everything from cone-shaking sub-basses, searing leads, animated loops, tortured guitars, and sound effects to breathy pads, rich strings, and dark angelic soundscapes. According to the manufacturer, these are not sounds to play to your granny.

Created by Junkie XL, this 74 MB library boasts the sounds used by the mainstay producer and remixer, whose work roster includes collaborations with Depeche Mode’s Dave Gahan, Gary Numan, Robert Smith from The Cure, and Public Enemy’s Chuck D, as well as remixes of tracks by Bloc Party, Coldplay, Britney Spears, Avril Lavigne, the Scissor Sisters, and Justin Timberlake.

As its name implies, the Junkie XL: Future Oldskool sample library incorporates classic "oldskool" synths, along with weird vocals, shiny and glistening pads, captured wavetables, scary basses and "underground shivers." It offers 150 sounds with 1,200 variations, all sorted into the following categories: Synths, Basses, Loops, Pads, Soundscapes, Leads, Vocals, and Sound Effects. All sounds would be suitable for use in dance, trance, electronica, house, ambient, techno, electro, and IDM.
