Carvin Alan Holdsworth Signature Series HF2S Fatboy

Fusion guitar legend and all around British Man Alan Holdsworth incorporates a lot of guitar-triggered synth textures in his performances. It only makes sense that, when Carvin started making MIDI-equipped guitars, they'd soon make the Carvin Alan Holdsworth Signature Series HF2S Fatboy Synth Access.

The previous Holdsworth signature guitar already featured humbuckers and piezo transducers, so you could say that Carvin has increased this guitar's tonal options by 50%. You could also argue that, because MIDI-output can be used to trigger a practically infinite number of sounds, Carvin has actually increased the guitar's tonal options by ∞%. I ascribe to the latter theory, and you can trust me, I am a doctor of maths.

Carvin uses Graph Tech MIDI synth access electronics in their MIDI-equipped guitars. Graph Tech Ghost saddles are also responsible for the HF2S's "studio-quality" acoustic guitar tone. For the more traditional guitar electronics, Carvin custom-winds "seasoned" AlNiCo V magnets for Holdswirth's unique humbucker tone.

For a guitar with so many sonic options, you better believe there's gonna be a ton of control knobs. Dig this:

"Electronics consist of a master volume and tone control, with a 3-way pickup selector located on the upper bout. The push-pull tone control doubles as a coil splitter, allowing dual to single coil operation on the S22 pickups. The Graphtech Synth Access Module consists of stacked concentric volume for MIDI & piezo, stacked concentric mid cut/boost and mid sweep, and stacked concentric bass & treble cut/boost. A mini-switch allows scrolling through MIDI patches. Outputs include dual 1/4" jacks (one for humbuckers, one for piezo) and a 13-pin Hexaphonic MIDI-compatible output. . ."

For a limited time, Carvin is offering a sale price on the new HF2S of $1,379.00 ($1,529.00 before rebate). Order one today to truly get your money'sHoldsworth.
