Carvin's SP series bass humbuckers can be used in basses with either active or passive electronics. The SP Soap Bar series is built for standard, five-string, and six-string basses. with string spacing width up to 3.4 inches. The SP series is sold for neck and bridge positions.

According to a recent Carvin press release, Carvin VP Mark Kisel, the new SP series offers a more customized bass sound.
