Celemony Melodyne Assistant And Melodyne Essential 2

While the traditional mold dictates that musical compositions are written out first before being performed or recorded, other individuals find that recording their ideas first before transcription are a much more comfortable method of composition. Alas, it is often more difficult to perform transcription that writing out a score and getting it recorded. Melodyne has been one multipurpose musical tool known for helping a lot of musicians with this problem, providing solutions such as monophonic and polyphonic audio to MIDI translation, pitch and rhythmic correction, transposition, transcription assistance, and other sorts of functions relevant to creating that musical permanence. The release of Celemony Melodyne Assistant and Melodyne Essential 2 makes that significant contribution to versions of the acclaimed Melodyne series designed for various user needs.

Beginners in the use of Melodyne can get themselves easily familiarized with Melodyne Assistant. Melodyne Assistant is ideal for correction and optimization of monophonic and rhythmic audio material. Correction of intonation and timing problems by hand, transposition, copying, moving, deleting, and other functions that can be found in audio editors can be performed. This new application can be utilized in various compatible hosts as a plugin, making it useful as an editing tool within the context of other tracks recorded in the host. Standalone operation is also available. Melodyne Assistant is scheduled to become available by November 2009 and will cost 249.00 USD. Attractive upgrade options include upgrading to Melodyne Editor for polyphonic analysis or Melodyne Studio for multitrack functionality.

Melodyne Essential 2 offers the same editing functions as one will find in Melodyne Assistant, those being editing of notes in monophonic or rhythmic audio material, correction of intonation, melody restructuring, and others. It is part of Digidesign's Ignition Pack software bundle and cannot be purchased separately. It works as a RTAS plugin in ProTools. It also comes in with Melodyne macros for pitch and time correction. On the other hand, updates from Melodyne Essential 1 are available for 59.00 USD for products registered prior to June 1, 2009. For products registered subsequent to June 1, 2009, updates will be free.
