Cinematique Instruments Sapphire 60 Sample Library Released For Kontakt
Hohner organs, here we come -- Cinematique Instruments has released Sapphire 60, an organ sample library for Native Instruments Kontakt featuring the sounds of a real Hohner.
The Sapphire 60 takes its magic and sound from an original Hohner Symphonic 30N combo -- a small organ famous for its mean and unique tone. Though the instrument was mostly used in 1960s beat music, it still held its position as a go-to organ a decade later when Led Zeppelin used the organ during its 1972 / 1973 UK tour. The Symphonic 30N combo is a four-octave mobile organ with eight registers: two of the 16", four of the 8", and two of the 4" octaves, each of which are switchable. It has switches for vibrato and brilliance, and glass tubes instead of transistors.
Cinematique Instruments Sapphire 60 is said to be a versatile sample library suited for loads of music genres such as british rock, reggae, ska, pop, and even film.
In making the new collection, Cinematique Instruments recorded all of the eight registers in steps of three semitones. In contrast to the original organ concept, which only allows you to switch the register on or off, each register can now be mixed in separately via faders. In addition, two different kinds of vibrato are included -- a rotary speaker FX, and a distortion and a cabinet simulation. You get a button to control the amount of delay and reverb, plus buttons to save (and reload) the whole setting of the organ. For quick access to all the capabilities of the Sapphire 60, some useful presets are included, which cover a wide range of sounds for a variety of purposes.
The Sapphire 60 sample library is now available for Kontakt for 19 EUR (approximately $24). For more details, please visit cinematique-instruments.com.
