Cinematique Instruments Celtic Nylon Harp For Kontakt Features Sounds Of Small-Sized Harp
With Cinematique Instruments Celtic Nylon Harp (17 EUR), you can get your hands on a real harp, or at least on patches and settings that control the recorded sounds of a real harp.
This instrument for Native Instruments Kontakt features the sounds of a small-sized harp measuring 39 inches tall. Usually played in traditional music, the wooden instrument has a three-octave range and 22 strings made of nylon that are plucked with the fingers for a warm, angelic sound.
Celtic Nylon Harp was recorded in several Velocity layers and four round robin variations in two microphone positions (very close, and then at the sound hole at the rear of the harp), for additional sound variations. Using the Mod wheel, you can control the length and decay of the strings as a simulated kind of damping. Beyond damping, you can increase the realism of the harp by playing it in Glissando or Arpeggiator mode.
The instrument includes four patches: Close MW Damped, Close Arp, Harp Far MW Muted, and Deluxe MW Vib. Close MW Damped offers sustained notes in several Velocity layers and four round robin variations recorded in a close mic position (MW controls the amount of damping and the Glissando script); likewise, Close Arp features the same as the Close MW Damped, but adds an arpeggiator script with 10 presets; Far MW Muted presents sustained notes in several Velocity layers and four Round Robin variations recorded at the sound hole in rear position; and Deluxe MW Vib pans both far and close notes.
