Cinesamples CineCrash: Piatti And Cymbal Sample Library Crashes Into Kontakt
Piattis and cymbals are crashing headfirst into Native Instruments Kontakt, with the release of the new Cinesamples CineCrash piatti and cymbal sample library.
The CineCrash sample collection is what the maker calls the "next generation meat and potatoes cymbal library." Included are the sampled sounds of two piatti / crash cymbals (an 18-inch and 20-inch) and three suspended cymbals with multiple round robins and Velocity variations. The suspended cymbals were played in two ways, with both mallets and sticks, and just mallets. If you simply want cymbals and only cymbals, CineCrash is the library for you. No other percussion is included with the collection -- only cymbals.
The 2.95 GB library offers five basic patches and three multi / condensed patches, with several suggested ways to play them: tempo-synced rolls, free-fingered rolls, and mod wheel rolls. The suspended cymbals come with tempo-synced, one to eight beat rolls mapped from C2 to G2, which remove the guesswork from playing the cymbals suspended. To help you perform free fingered rolls, each cymbal was recorded as five layers with RR x 8 for manual playing of single hits and homemade finger rolls. You can also make your own rolls by holding down a single key and letting the mod wheel do the work. CineCrash has been scripted fade automatically through many recorded layers of rolls. End with a normal let ring release or a choke.
CineCrash features include the following:
- 2.95 GB sample library
- 5 basic patches
- 3 multi / condensed patches
- 2 Crash Cymbals Piatti (18-inch and 20-inch)
- 2 suspended cymbals (Cymbal 1 - Mallets / Sticks and Cymbal 2 - Mallets)
- Tempo synced rolls recorded at multiple tempos with layers and round robin variations (piatti 3 x 4, cymbals 5 x 8)
Cinesamples CineCrash is now available for Kontakt 3.5 or higher (Kontakt Player is not supported) for $99. Current owners of both CineToms 2 and CineSnares can get CineCrash for free. For more information, please visit cinesamples.com.
