Crate Taxi and Limo Amp Series - Gear Insider
October 26, 2006
Crate's battery powered amp series includes the Taxi and the
Limo. These amps are tricked out with built-in effects, an 8 hour
battery life, and can even be used as a portable PA system, according to
the Crate rep. There are plenty of extras, including a cigarette-lighter adapter.
See and hear these battery-powered amps in Gearwire's Crate Limo and Taxi demo video.
Check out more information at the official Crate website.

How much does the crate limo tx50dbe vs. tx50db weight?
I've been looking online and some sites say it's 22lbs while over say 32lbs. I thought I had it figured out for a minute that the old tx50db is the 32 pounder while the tx50dbe is the new lighter one weighing only 22lbs. Then I did some more looking around and found that some sites say the dbe is 32lbs too. So what's the difference between the two? Also, the only thing I can see missing from this amp holding it back from shear perfection is a direct out so I can hear myself at open mics and gigs that have a crummy PA with no monitors. I wish it had that instead of all that dsp garbage i'd never use. Also, could someone please send me a clear picture of the control pannel on this thing, I can't find one anywhere. Stay tuned.
