October 26, 2006
Crate Taxi and Limo
Crate's battery powered amp series includes the Taxi and the Limo. These amps are tricked out with built-in effects, an 8 hour battery life, and can even be used as a portable PA system, according to the Crate rep. There are plenty of extras, including a cigarette-lighter adapter. See and hear these battery-powered amps in Gearwire's Crate Limo and Taxi demo video.

How much does the crate limo tx50dbe vs. tx50db weight?

By: THE nate marsh

I've been looking online and some sites say it's 22lbs while over say 32lbs. I thought I had it figured out for a minute that the old tx50db is the 32 pounder while the tx50dbe is the new lighter one weighing only 22lbs. Then I did some more looking around and found that some sites say the dbe is 32lbs too. So what's the difference between the two? Also, the only thing I can see missing from this amp holding it back from shear perfection is a direct out so I can hear myself at open mics and gigs that have a crummy PA with no monitors. I wish it had that instead of all that dsp garbage i'd never use. Also, could someone please send me a clear picture of the control pannel on this thing, I can't find one anywhere. Stay tuned.
