Crown MA-2402, Crown MA-3600VZ, and Crown MA-5002VZ: Macro-Tech Amps Still Looking Good At 60, Just Like Hulk Hogan
It's been sixty years since the first Macro-Tech model power amps came out, and Crown is commemorating them with the limited anniversary edition run of the MA-2402, MA-3600VZ, and MA-5002VZ amps -- all coated in a shiny, copper armor.
The Macro-Tech series ran for over two decades, and they're only back for a limited time with a total of 600 of these amps put together between the three reissued models.
Here's what Crown's Senior VP of Research, Gerald Stanley, whose patented technologies and innovative design philosophies helped create success for the Macro-Tech series, had to say:
“Over its 20-plus years, Macro-Tech has long been widely regarded as the touchstone in high-performance pro audio amplifier design,” says Brian Divine, Crown Market Director, Engineered Sound/Touring Sound. “In fact, between Macro-Tech and its smaller sibling, Micro-Tech, we’ve shipped nearly 275,000 units worldwide, which translates to approximately 54 million watts into 4 ohms or 65 million watts into 2 ohms, so there can be no doubt that this is a highly significant product in terms of pro audio’s history. With the new Macro-Tech Anniversary Edition versions, we are giving a select few the chance to own a unique piece of that history for themselves.”
Crown expects the Anniversary Edition models to sell like hot cakes, and though I have personally never seen anyone desperately clamoring to buy a hot cake, if you want a Macro-Tech Anniversary Edition, you should probably act fast.
