Set to be released at Summer NAMM 2011, D’Addario Helicore / Kaplan Bonus Sets are meant to help introduce D'Addario's growing line of Kaplan strings to existing Helicore players.
The three limited-run bonus sets -- available for violin, viola, and cello -- consist of a Helicore set in medium tension and full size (long scale for viola), plus a single free bonus Kaplan high string. These three sets will be available for a limited time only, so snatch them up while you can.
So that you know they are special, the bonus sets will be packaged in a specially marked Helicore set package as five single strings. To maintain consistency, the silking colors will remain the same as the company's normally packaged Helicore and Kaplan strings.
About the new strings, Lyris Hung, D'Addario's Bowed Product Manager, comments, “Helicore players demand dependable strings that provide great pitch stability, quick response, and a warm tone. We hope these Bonus Sets will give them the strings that they know and love, while introducing them to new options in the Kaplan line.”
D’Addario’s Helicore Violin Set with Bonus Kaplan Non-Whistling E String (H310-KAP) is priced at $73.75 (MSRP); the Helicore Viola Set with Bonus Kaplan Viola A String (H410-KAP) is also available in long scale, medium tension and is priced at $102 (MSRP). Likewise, D’Addario’s Helicore Cello Set with Bonus Kaplan Cello A String (H510-KAP) will be available in full size, medium tension and priced at $249.25 (MSRP).
