Daisy Rock / AllyKatzz.com: Daisy Rock Wants To "Dominate" Tweens
"Girl Guitar" company Daisy Rock has announced a contest / partnership with AllyKatzz.com, the moderated* social networking site for tweens. Contest winners will nab a new Daisy Rock axe. From the Daisy Rock Press Release:
"Seeking to continually dominate the virtual tween market, Daisy Rock has partnered with AllyKatzz, one of the biggest tween blogging communities, giving girls a place to be heard free from peer-pressure and anonymously speak to what is happening in their lives."
For tweens to be free from peer pressure, I'm pretty sure they'd have to be among non-peers, i.e., the tween in question would have to be the only tween in the virtual room. Also: AllyKatzz? I don't know about you, but I think tweenagers are too young to be A) hanging out in alleys and B) hanging out in alleys acting like Ertha Kitt. Not until they're thirteen, anyway. But I digress.
The contest basically works as follows: 'tween November 15th and December 31st, AllyKatzz members will blog on the subject of "How Does Music Empower You?" From amongst all entries, sixteen winners will be chosen to win Daisy Rock Schwag, including one Grand Prize Winner who'll walk away with an honest-to-god Daisy Rock guitar. Which they can then sell on eBay and buy Guitar Hero III.
How 'bout tweenBay, the online auction site for 10-12 year olds? If there's anything this economy needs right now, it's eleven-year-olds with a line of PayPal credit.
