The Pro: First-Ever Reissue From Danelectro
DANELECTRO REPRESENTATIVE: Hi. This is a couple of new models from Danelectro: The Pro Model. We've never done this model before. This is a new reissue, retail at $299. The original guitars were made between about 1959 and 1963. They were only a one pickup with a short scale. The new models are two pickups with a full scale so much more playable. We've got some upgrade hardware, fully adjustable bridge, better tuners, pots and switches, a little warmer wind on the pickups. We have a little more output. Hank here will do a demo, a sound demo for you. They sound great. They're so vintage but yet so modern in its look, and we've got some great colored combinations going on and Hank, give them a whirl here.

Danelectro Pro
At age 14 I had my heart set on a Harmony Rocket, but my Mom bought me a brand new 1959 Danelectro Pro One because that's all she could afford at the time. It was a dark brown sparkle finish with a single pickup and short scale neck. I think that was the only color they came in back then. This is the guitar I learned to play on. It was stolen from me in Dallas Texas three years after I got it. I was heartbroken. I have searched without any luck to find another one. They are scarce as hen's teeth. I was excited to find Danelectro had reissued them. The new ones have two pickups and a full scale neck and improved tuners. The going price seems to be $249.00 with free shipping from most online music dealers. Then there are the dreamers who are asking $299.00 with $25.00 shipping. I'm going to wait a few months and I'll probably find one on eBay for a hundred bucks.
