dbx dB10 and dbx dB12: Direct Boxes For Lego Fans
The new duo of direct boxes from dbx aims to stand out above competitor's direct boxes, and since the dB10 [passive model] and dB12 [active model] are built to be stackable, that's probably a pretty easy task. Roger from dbx talks us through the new direct boxes and the dbx custom made transformers and other components that went into them.
J. IRVING-GILES: Hi. This is Josh again with Gearwire. I'm back with Roger Johnson, and we are looking at the DB12 and the DB10 direct boxes. What can you tell us about these, Roger?
ROGER JOHNSON: Yeah. They're fairly simple products but kind of unique in the arena of direct boxes. When we decided to do direct boxes at dbx, we felt like we couldn't just come out with another commodity direct box then sheet metal kind of thing. We wanted to make it really something special, and so we've created a cast meta, heavy-duty chassis for the passive direct box and the active direct box. These have premium audio performance. They have custom dbx wound transformers inside, and they're very durable. They have a unique feature that they stack on top of each other. They have a nice, stable footprint, they're not going to get dragged around the stage, and we feel that these are going to do very well for us. These are $99 retail and $129 retail.
J. IRVING-GILES: Excellent.

I have been using the dbx
I have been using the dbx direct box and they are a fantastic product! I will never use a different direct box ever again.
