DBZ Guitars Bird Of Prey: Sleek, Sharp, Edgy, And Powerful

June 24, 2009
DBZ Guitars Bird Of Prey

Just last month, maverick guitar maker Dean Zelinsky released the Croc Skin Bolero, a guitar with a finish so realistic that it could be mistaken for actual crocodile skin. If the Croc Skin Bolero has revived your passion for wildlife with its rounded body, a highly contrasting guitar model from DBZ's "The Dark Side Of Dean" has been unleashed. With a sleek and edgy design, the DBZ Guitars Bird Of Prey is out to prove why DBZ guitars is the Harley-Davidson of the guitar realm.

With a refined, sophisticated design, the Bird Of Prey is a remarkable piece of art that you would expect from DBZ guitars. While the aesthetics of the guitar are truly breathtaking, the body construction as well as other hardware components give the BoP the slicing tone that befits such a striking design. Loaded with EMG 81 and 85 active humbuckers, the Bird of Prey provides requisite metal punch and intensity. With an extended scale length, soft V profile, and easy access 24-fret neck, players can shred hard across the fretboard while imposing an intimidating visual front.

SPECIFICATIONS:

  • Construction/Scale: 25.5" scale set neck, 24 frets
  • Neck/Fingerboard: Maple/Ebony
  • Body: Mahogany (optional flame maple top)
  • Pickups: EMG81/EMG85
  • Controls: Vol/Tone/three-way
  • Tuners: Sperzel
  • Hardware: Nickel, Black, Gold
  • Bridge: Floyd Rose
  • Colors: Black, Matte Black, Midnite Blue, Red, and a wide range of transparent and custom colors. Graphics: Sepulchre, Radioactive

The Bird of Prey sells for MSRP USA Custom: $4887/MAP $2999, a price you would expect from a boutique guitar. Given the aesthetics and engineering invested on this guitar, getting one for yourself gives you that shock and awe onstage that will grab the attention of your audience, much like the talons of a real bird of prey clutching on to a helpless animal. The only thing to work on now is your shredding skills to keep your talons locked tight onto your listeners.

Great Guitar but WTF with the article?

By: Clint B. (not verified)

"It's the guitar Theodore Roosevelt would have rocked while hunting grizzlies in the Badlands"

"Fredrick's of Hollywood"

Why would you write this man? Killer ass guitar but I think you need to drop Mark A. Galang from the writers list. Pretty ghey if this was his attempt at humor.

Well, looks like you singled out the only two additions that I, Owen O'Malley (current de facto editor), shoehorned into this article, and labeled them unfunny.

While your opinion is incorrect and I am hilarious, I've removed these witty observations out of deference to Mr. Galang.

amazing

This is probably the most beautiful and amazing guitar I have ever seen... two questions though "would they make it in a 7-string version?", "How much would this retail for as I am in canada"

great guitar!

I played one at Northwest Guitars during my guitar lesson and it is AMAZING, and it was a Chinese one, $900, and the fastest neck I've ever played! The Floyd was amazingly responsive, and the EMG's sounded unbelievable.
