De La Mancha Boost: Simplifying The Bathtub
Rumor has it that car thieves don't ACTUALLY refer to a car theft as a "boost," as conveyed in Gone in 60 Seconds. Rather, boost is a free, two-band, parallel compression effect from de la Mancha. Of course, don't believe everything you read on the internet.
What boost does to enhance your audio is simple. It pretty much just boosts the lows and the highs while blending in the original signal. You've got control over compression amount and fine tuning on the low and high bands. The boost knob also lets you choose the mix amount of compressed audio with your dry signal.
It's basically a super-simplified version of de la Mancha's full plugin bathtub, which expands on features with compression, limiting and maximizing.
Fast Features:
- Dual band stereo compressors for low and high frequencies
- Parallel compression mixes dry audio with compressed audio to preserve transients
- Gain reduction indicators so you can see when compressors are working
- Boost knob increases mix of wet signal
- Gain knob increases input gain to desired compression level
