The randomization fetishism at de la Mancha continues to run rampant with erratic 2, a drum sample player with many options in terms of both randomizing and velocity sensitivity. The good news is that it can make your drum patterns sound different each loop around, adding or taking away as much realism as you can take.

Erratic 2 is based around a 15 slot drum sampler featuring six velocity layers per slot -- which nearly doubles the capabilities of the original. Each layer can be played by velocity, cycled round-robin style or triggered randomly. If you want to crunch some numbers, you're able to designate the hit probability and hit repeat probability for each slot and randomize the velocity, pan and swing for each hit.

Version 2 also adds velocity-sensitive decay envelopes for volume and filter cut-off and velocity sensitivity to pitch and filter cut-off. The step sequencer is gone, replaced by more flexible MIDI / piano-roll triggering.
