De La Mancha Therapy: Free Plugin Is Slightly Less Noisy Than Primal Scream Therapy
Do you sometimes imagine yourself DJing parties for massive, lumbering giants who threaten to destroy the countryside unless you put together the perfect set, only to find that you're just standing in the middle of a rural field, surrounded by windmills, air-needle-dropping for no one? Perhaps you need De La Mancha Therapy.
The newest free effect plugin from those heroes of the digital wasteland is actually probably better suited treating individuals with control-issues. See, it provides little to no obvious or direct control parameters with which to predictably alter the sounds it creates. Instead of recognizable knobs, or some such artifice, De La Mancha Therapy "invites you to type words to generate the psycho-somatic algorhythms (sic) that will shape, bend and [eff] up your audio according to your own twisted mind."
De La Mancha does at least provide this features list:
- 3 band granulizer effect with absolutely no ability to deliberately control any parameter
- Word driven controls, even I don't know how it works, but it does
- Stares back at you without suggesting how to solve your problems, just like a real therapist
- What was your relationship with your mother like?
What D.L.M. forgets to mention is that, unlike professional therapy, Therapy is free. Go ahead, give it a download. Even if it does you irreparable psychological damage, at least you won't be in debt.
