To get people excited about their upcoming Transfuser groove creation virtual instrument, Digidesign has released Transfuser Preview, a three month pre-release that users of Pro Tools software can download and use for free. It creates loops, phrases and grooves and allows for manipulation and performance of loop and rhythm based music within any program as long as that program is Pro Tools.

Transfuser includes a heap of loops and phrases to get you started. You can use multiple drum and effects modules, slice and tag loops live, convert loops into MIDI patterns and replace sounds as you go. You can also drag and drop Pro Tools regions and audio files from your browser.

Dusty DiMercurio, Digidesign's personal studio products marketing manager offered his comments:

“The minute you start using this instrument, you immediately realize its creative potential. With Transfuser, you can easily drag a loop in, apply intelligent randomization to re-order loop slices, layer another groove on top of it with one of the drum machines, add some of Transfuser’s funky effects, apply sequenced automation to any number of parameters—all in real time without a hiccup. In virtually no time at all, you’ve got a really cool and unique groove.”

The limited time free pre-release version of Transfuser will be available through June 25, 2008, so try it out while you can if you're already using any Pro Tools system -- even Pro Tools M-Powered systems.
