DigiTech Jamman Solo: No Relation To The Pilot Who Made The Kessel Run In Under 12 Parsecs (Video)

DigiTech Jamman Solo Winter NAMM 2010 Video

There are a whole lotta fans of the original DigiTech Jamman looping pedal, so you might wonder why the company went ahead and futzed with a proven design. Still, when you check out the new DigiTech Jamman Solo in this demo video, you might start to understand its appeal. It packs almost all of the features of the original Jamman into a more compact pedal form, and probably a lower price point (we'll have to double-check on that). Plus it shares a surname with coolest character Harrison Ford ever portrayed. Noice.

Can I use?

By: Tommy (not verified)

Hello
I was thinking of buying the Digitech Jam Man Solo to use with my GNX3000. Can I use the GNX3000 drum mech. instead of the drum mech. on the Jam Man? Thank you.

Release date?

By: Hector G (not verified)

I can't find it anywhere. I NEED this. I liked the original Jamman, but it just wouldn't fit on my pedal board.
I was gonna get the Boss RC-2, but now that I've seen this... I have to have it.

So when Can I buy it?

The JamMan Solo pedal SHIPS at the end of this month. Start looking for it in stores at the beginning of February.

Not Convinced Yet....

Hmmmm. Doesn't seem to have any built-in drum/percussion like the RC-2. Not that the RC had the best tracks. BUT..better than nothing. Thought that was a really good feature of the RC-2 There's probably a way to do it on the Solo. But, nothing apparent so far.

And that $199 is list for the Solo. So, will go much below that on the street. Interested to see the specifics.

And I suspect a Boss RC-3 will be out shortly.

The first 10 presets contain pre-recorded drum and bass patterns. $199 is the MAP price which you will see in stores (it lists for higher than that).

Also, the JamMan comes with software called "JamManager" that will link your pedal to the computer via USB cable. You can import wav files from ANY source (like the Acid program or....?) and then arrange the loops in a "setlist" that you can them dump into the JamMan. So if you already have looping software on your computer and have discs with drum loops on them, you can create your favorite beats, then store them on the JamMan in CD quality audio. You have 99 prests to play with so you have PLENTY of room.

Hope that helps,

-Rikk

Yep. Can you take the bass

By: Anonymous Coward (not verified)

Yep. Can you take the bass out of these first 10 presets and just have the drums?

Nope bass and drums are combined together. One thing to point out though for folks who dont want these presets, you can erase the first ten presets and later if you want them back, do a factory reset.

Honestly though, most folks have some kind of looping software like Acid or Fruity Loops and even if you dont, just record a favorite passage out of your drum machine onto the computer and import the file into the JamMan. Either way, the capability is there to do anything you want/need with it.
