DigiTech Vocalist VL3D: Desktop Harmonizer For Armchair Vocalists
Thanks in part hopefully to a Children of the Corn inspired group of overly joyous singer-songwriters, the DigiTech Vocalist series is taking off and more variations on the unit must be made to satisfy the strumming, humming performer who takes open mic night seriously as cancer. The Digitech VL3D will take vocal harmonization to desktops around the globe, and it all starts at Winter NAMM 2009.
The VLD3D offers three-part harmonies thanks in large-part to the MusIQ Technology that made the original Vocalists such a smash hit by analyzing the singer's voice and backing it up with the ideal harmonization, all the while employing pitch correction, and for those of you with uncontrollable genders, gender control! VL3D also offers single-level programming and five user-definable voicing patches -- or program it on the fly, 'cause the VL3D can handle it.
Ins and outs on the VL3d include MIDI In, Out and Thru, guitar or line level 1/4" ins and XLR ins. Effects include three types of reverb and a pre-effects section that features warmth, compression, de-esser and noise gate controls. Finally, controls for harmony mix and an A / B part selector with a humanizing mix for gender effects round off the VL3D.
