DiscoDSP Corona R2: Updated Soft Synth Released
Here's a new kind of Corona for your studio collection. DiscoDSP has updated its Corona virtual synthesizer instrument (Windows / Mac) to version R2, giving the virtual instrument a number of new features designed to make the synth more efficient.
Corona is a 32- and 64-bit, virtual analog and wave synthesizer for Audio Units and VST hosts featuring 3 VA + WAVE oscillators, 14 oscillator combine modes, 8 destination matrix modulations, 3 LFOs, 3 ADSR envelopes, unison, chorus, delay and limiter effects, high-quality sound, and analog modeled filters.
The main differences between Corona R2 and its original counterpart are as follows: SoundFont 2 (SF2) is now supported by wave oscillators; there is now support for folders with.dwb extension for custom oscillator WAV / SF2 load; with Super 7 Unison, R2 offers modeled Super Saw for parabola, saw, square, triangle, and sine oscillators; additional ADR curves on the modulation envelope are available, as is LFO smoothing and phase parameter that now works with wave oscillators. There is also a modulation matrix unison detune destination; new factory and Creation bank presets sorted by type; and GUI enhancements, sub pixel rendered fonts, new logos, and module reallocation.
