discoDSP Discovery vs. Nord Lead2
September 29, 2006
Discovery 2.7 is an affordable software rebuild of the Nord Lead2, complete with banks and banks of presets to emulate later versions of the Nord as well as creative originals. There was one teeny-weeny problem, we couldn't find any comparisons between the two. We were compelled, yea, forced to grab the Nord Lead 2X we had lying around and do a direct comparison with Discovery.

lexicon audio USB board
hi,
my name is mark and I am an Italian youtube-user's fan of Gearwire.
sorry if my english is not genlte but i know a few english words.
on the table on this video I can see a lexicon audio usb outboard. how it is on latency playng disco dsp (milli seconds - ms)? (if you can, please, tell me what is your CPU and the amount of RAM). Are it's dc/ac good?
many thanks and if you cannot answer, don't worry.
sorry for my bad english
it's all good
I am not sure which computer he is using here, because this is an older video. I have a lexicon, and I would definitely recommend getting the Omega over it's younger sibling the Lambda. The Omega is powered by a separate source, which means it does not drain your usb bus of power as significantly.
The latency is not bad, but I would recommend having a 2ghz or higher processor to use it. I have one PC running a 1.9 ghz AMD Athlon with the Omega, and I often have to readjust my buffer to compensate for latency problems. I know that it runs on ASIO, and it still has some bugs when recording in 24 bit outside of cubase. It's fine in cubase for some reason, however.
