Denon's latest digital mixer has been unveiled. The Denon DJ DN-X1700, set out for release mid-2009, might well excite DJs and club music enthusiasts for what it offers to the table.  

M-Audio and N2IT are taking their problems to court. N2IT, a Holland-based company, is suing M-Audio for technologies that went into Torq, which they claim violates a patent they've held. So long as they're not all hopped up on hash and windmill fumes, this could mean trouble for M-Audio . . . and yes, that is Judge Reinhold.  

The hot new Twitter fad is spilling over into the DJ gear arena as Richie Hawtin recently began using a Twitter-Enabled TRAKTOR PRO setup, which transmits his tracklist as he plays it live! It won't be long before social networking replaces the government census.  

If you're a laptop DJ who's already got a control surface, but no audio interface. . . well then I don't even want to talk to you. Hercules, however, does.
