With a name like "Kickbox 4x4," Drawmer's new active mic / line splitter basically begs for abuse, and that seems to be the idea. Housed in a high impact plastic casing that should inspire more than a few amateur "road test" videos, the Kickbox 4x4 provides a portable mic / line splitting solution for location sound and other portable sound systems.

Each of the four "studio grade" mic preamps features 66 dB of gain, and in conjunction with the 16 outs, signal routing is configurable in the following ways:

• 1 IN / 16 OUT
• 2 X 1 IN / 8 OUT
• 1 IN / 12 OUT + 1 IN / 4 OUT
• 4 X 4 IN / 4 OUT

On the input side of things, the four mic preamps feature independent bar graph metering, 48V phantom power, mic / line switching and pre-routing headphone monitoring.

On the output side (the business end) each of the sixteen outputs features optional transformer isolation switching for clean operation, and LED transformer load indicators.
