Drawmer S2 Provides Big, Bright And / Or Dry Tube Compression

May 27, 2008
Drawmer S2

Drawmer is pleased to announce the S2 Signature Series Dual Channel Tube Compressor, which boasts a circuit that's "all tube -- no technical compromise." This uncompromising compressor houses high grade components that allow for some creative processing options based around three specific modes.

The first of these modes, Big, retains your bass frequencies while limiting "pumping" to a minimum by rolling off the detection signal at your choice of 75, 125 or 250Hz. You can also use a variable level control to dial in as much or as little Big processing as you like.

Bright mode engages a dynamic high frequency enhancer that retains freshness and brightness in your compressed audio. It features continuously variable frequency control from 500Hz to 20kHz and an amount of dynamic enhancement.

The third mode, dry, creates a parallel compression effect by mixing a controllable amount of uncompressed signal with the compressed signal. Other features include:

  • Two-channel soft-knee tube compressor
  • Fully balanced internal signal path
  • Class A design
  • Isolation transformers in and out
  • "ALLTUBE" circuit design
  • Variable attack and release with optional program dependent auto release operation
  • Dual mono or stereo link operation
  • Switchable "Peak" or "VU" metering to display transients
  • Switchable +10dB or +20dB meter rescale modes
  • Eight segment gain reduction metering
  • Balanced XLR inputs / outputs
