Dunlop Formula 65 Neck Cradle Maintenance System: Support Your Local Guitar Or Bass

February 13, 2008
Dunlop Formula 65 Neck Cradle Maintenance System

As a relatively lazy man with a Flying V, I've found myself in situations where the new Dunlop Formula 65 Neck Cradle Maintenance System would have come in mighty handy. Instead, with the input jack on the front recessing into the guitar thanks to a slowly loosening nut, I've had to prop the guitar across a couple of chairs to unscrew the nut, pull the input jack a bit further out, and carefully tighten the nut from the ground [car mechanic style] just to avoid looking for a screwdriver.

The Formula 65 Neck Cradle was developed by renowned guitar builder and inlay artist Ron Thorn. It's a very handy tool for stabilizing your guitar or bass while you're working on it.

The self-aligning cradle rotates on an axis to provide hands-free support to both the back and front of your guitar neck. In the UP position, the neck cradle's angle can accommodate pretty much any neck shape. In the DOWN position, a neoprene pad keeps the guitar steady while protecting the fretboard.
