The D12R and D12T are two-way polypropylene cabinets that are impervious to rough handling and inclement weather (they are advertised as 100% weatherproof) that yield precise sound reproduction in a lightweight, elegant, and unobtrusive design. These latest D-Lite boxes are perfect for a variety of applications.

The D12R is a 12-inch, two-way polypropylene cabinet best used for professional fixed installations in places such as swimming pools, skating rinks, and amusement parks. This unit has an Electro-Voice DL12BFH 12" woofer and a "Constant-Directivity" HF horn equipped with the ND2 driver from Electro-Voice. It also features 300-watt (continuous) and 1200-watt (peak) power handling, a maximum sound pressure level of 129 dB, and a frequency range from 70 Hz to 18 kHz, making it an excellent full-range cabinet or midrange/high-frequency component in both active (powered) and passive satellite systems.

For fixed installation sound reinforcement applications in 100-volt audio distribution networks, the D12T is the ideal choice. It is also usable for applications requiring long cables to run from the amplifier without power loss. The D12T is equipped with the same components and has the same features as the D12R plus a low-distortion toroidal audio transformer, the cabinet power of which (300-watt, 150-watt, or 75-watt) is determined by the wiring of the incoming connector. The D12T is perfectly suited for speech and music reproduction.

Halogen protectors in the enclosure cabinets provide a protection against thermal overload. The D12R, in addition, has a fully electronic system of voice-coil tracking protection. The D12R's thermal guards help achieve maximum dynamic range through use with amplifiers that have outputs as high as 1200 Watts into 8 Ohms. The protectors in each speaker also have "soft switching" capabilities that allow it to automatically reduce power to a safe level in the event of an overload without any pops or clicks that occur with conventional protection.
