Dynacord VariLine VL-62: Chain Them Together, Swing Them About Your Head Like A Cat-O-Nine Tails

Dynacord VariLine VL-62

We're all feeling the crunch of the now undeniable economic "don't call it a recession" downturn, and businesses looking to install or upgrade their sound systems are wary of the cost and hassle of dealing with multiple speaker installations that require multiple dedicated amplifiers to drive. Consider, then, the new VariLine VL-62 from Dynacord.

Designed for commercial and other general purpose permanent sound installations, the Dynacord VariLine VL-62 is voiced for optimal performance for multiple applications. The cabinet is rated for 150 watts RMS (400 peak) at 16 ohms, meaning up to four cabinets can be wired in series (daisy-chained) and powered by any amp that can handle a 2 ohm load, though Dynacord recommends their own amps, natch.

The 2-way enclosure features a 6" neodymium woofer, and an ElectroVoice Hi-Z tweeter that's, for some reason, rotatable. The enclosures are constructed from birch plywood, and finished in what Dynacord calls a "black 2-component paint that can easily be renovated if sometimes necessary."

Basically, the message I'm getting from Dynacord about the VL-62s is "they sound great, even if they aren't what you'd call 'lookers.'"
