EastWest Quantum Leap SILK: Get Your Kicks Along Asia's Centuries Old Route 66
If you're in the Western Hemisphere, EastWest adds some double meaning to its name, bringing instruments from the East to the West with Quantum Leap SILK. This virtual instrument highlights some of the finest instruments of all time to come out of China, India and Persia in the pristinely sampled way these historical instruments were meant to be heard.
Every SILK instrument has been multi-sampled in a very detail-oriented fashion, placing importance on expressiveness. SILK gives you loads of articulations, interval sampling, round robin sampling and silky smooth performance. They didn't just get a bunch of regular joes to mess around on these instruments; all the players on SILK are masters of their respective instruments. Lastly, you can adjust the instruments to play tuned to several microtunings. Quantum Leap producer Nick Phoenix gets the last word:
“Intended as an extension of Quantum Leap RA, Quantum Leap SILK looks to give users access to rare instruments from across Asia played masterfully by renowned artists. Extensive scripting is employed in SILK along with our PLAY 64-bit (with 32-bit capability) sample engine, offering composers a lot of control over the end result.”
