Edirol R-09HR: New OS Offers Music Applications And Onboard Editing
Update your Edirol R-09HR portable digital recorder with the new version 2.0 operating system, available as a free, user-installable upgrade. The 2.0 OS adds a suite of music applications and onboard editing functions not found in the previous version.
Added features include the Self Time function, a metronome and two tuners, all of which make it easier to use the R-09HR during practice or rehearsal sessions. The Self Time function allows for a time delay of up to 10 seconds before automatically recording -- just enough time to hit the button, put the recorder down, and pick up your instrument. The new metronome provides a click tone via the unit's built-in speaker or through headphones.
The standard and graphic tuners use the R-09HR's built-in condenser microphone to analyze any instrument’s pitch and tuning. According to Edirol, the standard tuner is useful for checking the immediate tuning of an instrument like guitar or bass, while the graphic tuner displays changes in pitch over time and is the better tool for vocalists and players of brass, string, and woodwind instruments, who need to test pitch variation.
In addition, version 2.0 provides onboard editing functions for quick manipulation of recorded audio files. You can use the new Divide function to break long recordings into separate files; likewise, you can use the new Combine function to merge separate sound files into one single audio file.
Download the R-09HR Version 2.0 OS directly from the Roland / Edirol Web site.
