EDIROL REPRESENTATIVE: Today we're showing 64-bit drivers for all o our latest audio devices. You can see here I've got my UA-101 connected to an Element 64 computer by Rain. This is a full 64-bit processing unit. I'm running the new version of Sonar 5, all 64-bit, and we're just kind of really showing off some of the benefits of that. And the main benefit of having a 64-bit computer system is that you can have up to a terabyte of RAM all in the same machine so disk streaming is kind of coming to an end. You've got nanosecond response time instead of millisecond response time with it. You don’t have to wait for the hard drive to catch up, so you see a fair amount of performance increase just on that level alone.

So you can see here I've got everything running at a 64-bit, just hitting play, bringing up some audio, and everything is running. You can see my CPU meter is about halfway up right now. I'm using a lot of audio processing in this particular project, and the reason why I can do so much is because I'm using a really powerful 64-bit computer with all 64-bit drivers for my audio device, for my MIDI device, so it really gives you a big performance boost just by adding 64-bit drivers, and that's 64-bit in a nutshell.
