Effectrode Delta-Trem: Surfing Beyond The Surf
The Fender Twin Reverb and Deluxe Reverb, along with the AC30, have that certain appeal to guitarists, which is especially evident in practitioners of the Surf Music genre. The tube amp vibrato circuitry has provided that iconic Surf guitar sound reminiscent of the waves and the nostalgia of the 50s and 60s. The Effectrode Delta-Trem recreates that vintage amp tremolo experience within the size of a typical Effectrode stompbox.
The hypnotic tones of the tremolo circuitry in vintage tube amplifiers are duplicated by the Delta-Trem via the use of filament lamp and photocell assembly in conjunction with a vacuum tube signal. This design results in a rather warm and musical tremolo usable with either clean or overdriven sounds. Though it can operate in mono mode with a single amp, the stereo option can provide that added dimension to the overall sound where the signal can be bounced back and forth between two amps for that "ping-pong" effect. The unique circuitry in the Delta-Trem makes it capable of reproducing sounds ranging from the deep sine waves of a Fender to the more abrupt square wave patterns of a Leslie. Its circuit operation is very quiet that it avoids the tube tremolo click, and anywhere from a subtle relaxing vibrato to a choppy machine gun effect can be achieved.
