EKS Otus RAW: Single- Or Dual-Deck DJ Controller Announced
Finland-based EKS has announced the the Otus RAW, a raw-cut version of its original Otus DJ controller.
Designed to work as a single or dual-deck controller, the Otus RAW is equipped with two long, heavy-duty SL-turntable-style pitch sliders, one for each virtual deck. The controller has large Velocity pads and buttons, a rugged chassis, and a layer switch that when activated, instantly multiplies the layers of controls. EKS also notes that the Otus RAW will have a "future-proof control ideology that makes [it] the most highly configurable controller for DJs today and for many years to come."
The main difference between the two Otus controllers is the type of sliders used. As opposed to the original Otus's touch-sensitive sliders, the Otus RAW has SL-turntable-style sliders for better handling and control.
EKS expects to ship the Otus RAW in the spring of 2010 for a to-be-announced price.
