Electro-Harmonix 2880 Has Us Feeling Loopy
September 30, 2006
The Electro-Harmonix 2880 Super Multitrack Looper is, for all intents and purposes, a foot-controllable multitrack recording unit. Like other loopers on the market, the 2880 is extremely useful for live situations where musicians are in short supply. (Take heed, backup guitarsts, you can be replaced by a machine.)
But the 2880 also records at CD-quality resolution and can store 480 seconds of audio per each of its six tracks (that's four main recording tracks, plus two additional tracks for bouncing). You can expand the recording time significantly by purchasing a larger memory card.
To really get the most out of the 2880, you'll also need to purchase the optional 2880 Looper Foot Controller, which allows you to start and stop recording, select tracks, reverse playback, and more, all on the fly.
