Electro-Harmonix Bass Metaphors: The Stompbox With The Ironically Non-Descriptive Name

Electro-Harmonix Bass Metaphors

Shall I compare thee to a channel strip?
Thou art more portable and compact.
Modular pedalboards do clutter the stage at one's feet,
And rackmounted processors hath too high a price tag.
Sometimes too harsh my jazz bass sounds,
'Specially when his volume pots are dim'd;
And times are clean is too clean by far;
S'when I kick your distortion in.
And thou needest not an insert point;
As a compressor integral do you sport.
Thy truest bypass, and housing robust,
Gives me lead to take thee a-touring with.

Dude, that was totally like a sonnet.

The Bass Metaphors is basically a channel strip, which means it's a unit that allows you to have EQ in one box as well as distortion and compressor and a volume overall for the whole unit and also a separate volume for the EQ level and also a dry in, dry out so you can actually add as much dry to the signal as you want. It's also great because it's a direct in and out box, so it has 1/4" direct out as well as XLR out. Now you don't need to carry your bass around unless you really want to. Bypass switch. With the EQ kicked in...

...you can turn up treble and bass. You can dial in as much dry as you want and then you have a distortion that kicks in.

And then of course, you have a compressor built in...

...and an overall volume for the whole unit.

So this is a great all-in-one unit. It's great for older amps because when you have older amps a lot of times they don't have a compressor built in. This one has a compressor built in. This one has a compressor built in so you can take this, use it with your old Ampegs or old Fender Precision or anything. It works great.
