Electro-Harmonix Screaming Bird, Electro-Harmonix The Mole: Do You Like Stomping On Animals?

April 07, 2009
Electro-Harmonix Screaming Bird, Electro-Harmonix The Mole

I was going to say that the new Eelectro-Harmonix reissues of their classic Screaming Bird and Mole pedals sounded exactly like their names, but moles don't sound like anything. Stupid moles, ruining all my copy intro ideas.

Wait a minute. . .

If you "dig" single-purpose designs, you'll love the new Screaming Bird and Mole Nano pedals from Electro-Harmonix. Each of these compact stompboxes features one control, one transistor, and one boosted frequency band. As one could guess, the Screaming Bird is a treble booster (up to 20db with a center frequency of 1.6 KHz to 2.4 KHz at maximum volume), while the Mole is a bass booster (up to 20db with a center frequency of 400 Hz to 200 Hz at maximum volume).

Need further explanation? How about a charming video produced by EHX and posted to their YouTube channel yesterday?

The Screaming Bird and Mole are available now.

My thoughts exactly.

Their voicebox looks quite cool. Most of the rest of their stuff I could take a pass on, besides some of their classics.

I love my Octave Multiplexer.
