Electro-Harmonix Deluxe Memory Man: Die-Cast With A Vengeance
About a week ago, Electro-Harmonix announced, with some fanfare, their "countdown to the new Deluxe Memory Man," and, while they didn't feature a countdown clock or anything, they did announce that the day would come when their new, compact Deluxe Memory Man would completely replace their classic, if cumbersome, trapezoidal chassis.
"Good things come to those who wait," quipped Henry Wadsworth Longfellow (allegedly). EHX founder Mike Matthews thinks that guy's an idiot, and he's moved the release date of the new Electro-Harmonix Deluxe Memory Man up to. . . now!
Yes, you can now start placing your orders for the more pedalboard-friendly die-cast chassis DMM. It's got the same circuit, same bucket-brigade chip set, same controls, and same sound as the original, beloved, and butt-ugly DMM.
If you're the kind of guitarist, however, who still drives a '62 Chrysler Imperial specifically because it's hard to park and gets terrible gas mileage, then you'll be happy to know that Electro-Harmonix hasn't ceased production of the "Classic" chassis Deluxe Memory Man quite yet. . . though they will, soon, so get on that.
