Electro-Voice LAPS V2.2A: The Electro-Voice Using Sound System Designer's "Play-Book"

Electro-Voice LAPS V2.2A

Getting for your production a good set of line array speakers (such as those from Electro-Voice) doesn't guarantee the success of your sound system setups. Doing corrections on the fly for a badly set line array system is often tiring, costly, and annoying to both the people who attended the show you just had set up and the crew who handles all the adjustments that you need. Prevention is always better than cure, and the Electro-Voice LAPS V2.2A can help you get that line array design outlined and tried even before setting up on venue.

The LAPS V2.2A caters to the sound system designer who uses Electro-Voice line array speakers. As a designer, you can use LAPS to quickly enter an array design and assess for performance, which would then play an important role in your sound system design decisions. LAPS has the capability to model full sound systems including main arrays, secondary arrays, and subwoofers. Once you have chosen a final system design, LAPS will then provide full rigging specifications. LAPS also performs comprehensive checking of rigging working loads and does not predict performance of unsafe rigs.

This new version has a special page for predicting coverage of subwoofer arrays, allowing users to design rigs with significant bass coverage at little cost. LAPS has support for all Electro-Voice line array products and related subwoofer units. More information regarding changes can be gathered from the website itself, and Electro-Voice LAPS V2.2A is in Microsoft Excel format and can be downloaded for free.
