EMS Synthi AKS Merely the Smallest of Jean Michel Jarre's Treasure Trove of Synthesizers

EMS Synthi AKS Provides Big Sound From a Small Unit For Jean Michel Jarre

When I think of vast, almost ludicrous amounts of outboard gear, I'm inclined to think of a few select names. Among those, one of the biggest stand-outs would have to be Jean-Michel Jarre. After reading this past months' issue of Makezine showing how to make a laser harp, I was inspired to look up the man's gear list. To my delight, I found this gem on YouTube, and now know that I want several pieces of gear I will probably never be able to find.

Oxygene New Master Recording & DVD Live

By: Klaus (not verified)

This instrument presentation is one of the tracks on the DVD version of the Oxygene New Master Recording. Very much recommended. I bought my copy last spring and it made me forget the world for a few days!

It should actually be possible to buy new versions of the EMS instruments, see ems-synthi.demon.co.uk, though they are not cheap.

I had no idea. I will have to pick that up. Thanks for pointing me the in the direction that this originated from!

As for the EMS, I was aware, but I'll have to wait a while before I can pick one of those up.
