Eowave Ribbon: Multi-Functional Controller And Mini Synth
Not just a ribbon controller, the new Eowave Ribbon is also a mini lo-fi synthesizer and a USB and CV / gate controller. Now shipping, the Ribbon has a variety of uses for home-studio musicians, recordists, producers, and more.
As a mini synth, the Ribbon has a real sound generation section with one oscillator. According to the manufacturer, the sound is triggered by your finger's position on the four-octave ribbon, and the ribbon serigraphy offers a chromatic scale of the four octaves provided. The Ribbon is also sensitive to finger pressure, which in turn determines the volume of the sound. A tactile tile is dedicated to effects modulation.
You can place the Ribbon on a table for desktop use, or you can put it on a keyboard for continuous play. In addition, the Ribbon can also be held as you would a cello neck or a guitar neck. The Ribbon has a transparent Plexiglas enclosure lighted with LEDs, making it a cool-looking synth and controller for live performances.
The Ribbon may also be used as a USB controller. Since it is compatible with any MIDI software, no MIDI interface is needed to operate the Ribbon. The new unit is also fully compatible with the Apple iPad.
Furthermore, the Ribbon can be used as a CV / gate controller with just an audio cable. The Ribbon has an audio output and it can directly control a modular synthesizer.
