ESP LTD EC-1000: Ten Ton Guitar Demonstrated By World's Strongest Man
Unless your confident in the constitution of your trapezoid muscles, the ESP LTD EC-1000 might not be the most comfortable piece to wear on a gig, but the malnourished J. Irving-Giles shoulders one anyway for this Gearwire demo. Check out the EC-1000 in action as this heavy hitter can do some tonal damage in addition to its ability to brain anyone you swing it at.
J. IRVING-GILES: Hi. I'm J. Irving-Giles with Gearwire.Com, and I have the ESP LTD EC-1000 with me. As you can see by the shape, it's got kind of a Les Paul style single cutaway body and it is pretty heavy just like a Les Paul. Say, the tone on this is slightly lighter than a Les Paul which has a really deep, heavy, resonant tone. And this guitar has a three piece neck, it's mahogany. A mahogany body here; as you can see in this black model, it's all mahogany. ON the models that are different colors, anything but black or vintage black. It's got a maple top on it.
On the back here, it's got Sperzel locking tuners, and maybe you can see the -- these little locks here. It's got the TonePro bridge; it's a locking bridge too, and basically that's it about this guitar. Rosewood fingerboard, ESP 81 pickups so they're active pickups, and a 24th fret here so you can hit that really high note.
All right, now I will be playing this through a Bogner Alchemist on the clean channel and then the gain channel with the punch feature on, and here goes.
I'm on the clean channel right now. We're on the middle, in the pickup selection, getting both the bridge and the neck here.

All right, and let's switch that over to the bridge.

And finally the neck pickup.

All right. Then let's try that on the distorted channel. And now the EC-1000 on a gain channel with the Bogner Alchemist with the pickup selector in the middle.

Now all right, and put it on the bridge pickup.

You should really pay me to end all of your songs. And now for the neck pickup.

All right, and that is the ESP EC-1000. I've been J. Irving-Giles. Thank you for watching Gearwire.Com.
