Power Center Tom Heads are said to offer a full-bodied tone with clean attack, extreme durability, and impeccable focus. According to Evans, these heads are meant for players who prefer a classic 1970s sound but require the consistency of a modern instrument.

The drum heads feature graduated film thickness (10 mm film for heads sized from 6- to 12-inches and 12 mm film on heads 13- to 18-inches) and graduated dot sizes to create a balanced sound across the kit. Like the company's EC Snare heads, the Power Center Tom Heads use the same stress-relieved metalized dot on the underside, which allows the head to flex and vibrate more naturally.
