Eventide Space Station SST-282: TDM Plugin On Sale For $199
New Jersey-based Eventide has announced limited-time special pricing for the Space Station SST-282 Pro Tools plugin for TDM. From now until September 30, 2010, you can get Space Station SST-282 for $199, which is about 60 percent off the list price.
Space Station SST-282 is a re-creation of the classic Ursa Major Space Station 3U rack processor from 1981. Available as a TDM plugin, Space Station SST-282 provides a variety of small room reverbs and a multitude of multi-tap delay effects featuring 24 separate delay-line taps. One tap is used for echo, feeding back to the input with the decay control. Likewise in Reverb mode, the delay time of 15 taps is modulated before being fed back to the input. The last eight taps, labeled Audition Delay Taps, are configured in pairs to feed the processor's stereo outputs. The buttons select from 16 different delay tap configurations, each with its own effect type.
According to the manufacturer, the main reason to get the plugin is that it includes great small room reverb, multi-tap echos with diffused tails, and a wide variety of unique delay effects.
