Eventide V3 Software Upgrade For TimeFactor, ModFactor, And PitchFactor
Owners of Eventide TimeFactor, ModFactor, and PitchFactor stompboxes will want to head over to the company's Web site to download the V3 software upgrade, now available for public beta. The version 3 update adds several significant features to the stompboxes.
In response to user requests, Eventide posted the software update, which adds two major features to all three stompboxes: the ability to name presets; and the ability to adjust the output level from -20 dB to +4 dB in 1 dB increments on each preset in order to facilitate seamless gain matching. Additional MIDI control refinements have also been added.
What's more, the ModFactor now sports a new Bass Wah algorithm specially optimized for bass, which brings the unit's current number of effects to 30. The Vocal Wah effect now allows you to modulate between two vowels instead of just modulating one vowel, a new feature that brings plenty more sound possibilities to the table. The software update also provides the ModFactor with improved Classic Chorus and Liquid Chorus algorithms with enhanced stereo imaging.
The TimeFactor now features increased saturation to the Tape Echo algorithm; the ability to increase modulation speed and depth in the Vintage Delay algorithm, resulting in more extensive modulation capability and control; and improved Tap Tempo responsiveness.
Additional improvements to the PitchFactor include faster responsiveness to Expression Pedal control on PitchFlex; a delay time in MicroPitch that has been increased from 1,500 ms to 2 seconds of stereo delay time; and more. In addition to sine, triangle, and sawtooth, Synthonizer Xnob now offers two new waveshape choices: Organ1 and Organ2. According to Eventide, selecting either of these will vary the pitch results in a wide variety of new synthesizer sounds, ranging from low nasty grit to cyber tin whistle.
Registered users of the TimeFactor, ModFactor, and PitchFactor can download the V3 update at Eventide's Web site, eventide.com.
