Fender American Deluxe HSS Stratocaster: Walkthru Like A Hero
The Fender American Deluxe HSS Strat is like a Stratocaster with a figurative cup of soup and a side of fries. It's the HSS Stratocaster all souped up with a tonal strength of heartland labor so ingrained that you can feel it as you play.
J. Irving-Giles grabs America by the neck and states the facts about this guitar before letting it speak for itself. It's so American it'll make you want to fire up your grill for a good ol' American barbecue and a game of baseball. Bonus points if you have a f*%@g gold grill.
J. IRVING-GILES: Hi. I'm J. Irving-Giles with Gearwire.Com, and today I'm here with the Fender American Deluxe HSS Strat, seen through the humbucker and two single coils here, and the single coils here and the humbucker as well are an upgrade from the standard Strat single coil humbucker. We got the SCN, which stands for samarium cobalt noiseless pickups. We got one hot and just one regular SCN pickup. We got the DH1 humbucker. We got all-American deluxe hardware on this thing so hardware is a little more solid than the standard. We still got the five-way pickup selector here, and let's give this one a listen. We're going to start out again with the bridge pickup here, humbucker, and give it a listen.

All right, and then moving on, switch it all the way to a neck pickup here. We got one of these SCN pickups in.

All right, and then we'll put it in the middle position here.

The tone on this model, as you can hear, is a lot richer. It seems tobe a lot fuller than the Standard. The neck even feels a little bit more solid, so there's an obvious reason why this is about triple the price of the Mexican made, that's why it's got the American flag sticker on it. You got to get the flag sticker into the shot.
GRETCHEN HASSE: Absolutely, absolutely.
J. IRVING-GILES: All right, and then we'll try one of the combo positions towards the bridge.

All right, and then the combo towards the neck.

All right, and that's the Fender American HSS Stratocaster.
