Summer NAMM 2005 Fender Cyber Twin Gearwire.com
FENDER REPRESENTATIVE: Fender launched the original Cyber Twin in 2001 as a very carefully thought out response to the growing trend in modeling amps, and the original Cyber Twin was an amazing success, and it really kind of cleared the deck of a lot of the lesser thought out let’s say models on the market. So, the original Cyber Twin did very well for a few years. We launched the Cyber Deluxe and the Cyber Champ a little while after that, and recently we’ve come up with the Cyber Twin SE, SE meaning second edition, and this amplifier has a very unique way of recreating different amplifier sounds. It actually reconfigures the internal circuitry so tubes and transistors and capacitors and resistors and all these components are being engaged or disengaged as needed, when you go from say a Tweed sound to a Blackface Fender sound to a British to whatever.
Cyber Twin SE, compared to the original, has kind of just a little more of everything. It has more presets, more effects, more high end on some of the amplifier models. I say models but it’s really not a modeling amp; it’s cybernetic amp design. This amp is currently on tour with several top artists including [PH] Gary Hoey, who recorded his recent surf album. The entire album is done on the Cyber Twin SE using the XLR outputs on the back, and he loves it.
