Summer NAMM 2005 Fender Families - Gearwire.com
FENDER REPRESENTATIVE: I just wanted to take you through a quick walk through the basic families of the Fender line. We have our Vintage Series which involves a lot of instruments that are correct to the periods of the heyday of the beginning of Fender, the spirit of rock & roll. We have our Vintage Telecasters. This is a ’52 Tele. This is a ‘70s Tele Deluxe. You can see that guitars have evolved over time but these are very popular models from history, and we have reissued them, available in various price points. We have an [PH] Esquire here which was one of the first guitars that Fender ever made, and then you get into our more iconic Stratocasters, ’57 Strats, ‘50s Strats, ‘60s Strats with the rosewood necks, and then some of our later models like the Mustang.
We also have available but not displayed Jaguars, Jazzmasters, and some of the other models we came up with in the ‘60s. Then next here we have our Standard Series, which is our Mexico Standard Series available in satin finishes or gloss finishes, Strats, Teles, P-Basses, and J-Basses available in single coils or with humbuckers.
Next up from the Standard Series would be the Highway One Series which we discussed. There’s an upgrade to the tone circuit. These are also available. These are made in our Corona facility, and they have lacquer finishes and they’re made in our American facility. Then the next step up from the Mexico Standard Series before, the American Series.
The American Series is the benchmark Fender guitar that everybody aspires to own. They’re available in a multitude of configurations. As you can see here, humbuckers, single humbucker with two single coils, three single coils, also with S1 switching which we introduced a couple of years ago which allows for even more tonal configurations within some of the more traditional pickup configurations.
After the American Series, we have the American Deluxe Series. The American Deluxe Series just involves a lot of higher end cosmetics and also innovative pickup designs like we use Samarium Cobalt Noiseless Technology on these guitars so they don’t have the typical single-coil 60-cycle hum. You see these guitars are available in some of the more high-end finishes, ash bodies, flamed maple tops, abalone dots, chrome applique logos, pearl pickguards, binding, metallic finishes, and the Deluxe Series is the top of our line. Thank you.
