Flux Bitter Sweet II: Wave A Tearful Goodbye To Out-Of-Control Transients

July 22, 2008
Flux Bitter Sweet II

I almost don't want to talk about it.

Was a time I'd enjoy entertaining the occasional transient in my simple, four-track recordings. They'd add a bit of character to my music, and always had an enthralling tale to tell about their boxcar adventures. But then I began to record complex sessions. Bass tracks, backup singers, 10 piece, double-kick trap kits were all finding their way into my mix, and with them came a wave of transients, more than I could ever truly allow to reside, unchecked, in my recordings.

Those simple days are gone, and now I'm left with no choice but to apply 3rd-part transient processing to my situation. I didn't want to simply eliminate the transients -- no, that would be too cruel -- so I search long and hard for a plugin that would suit my sensitive needs, and I found it: Flux Bitter Sweet II. As soon as I saw the name, I knew that Flux had been in my situation. Lo and behold, Bitter Sweet II offers algorithms that can both tame and intensify my transients. There's even options for processing only specific parts of a stereo image. My transients will never feel neglected!

While the halcyon days of my youth are never more, I can still relive a portion of those times with Flux Bitter Sweet II, and though I'll never have the same personal relationship I once did with transients, I know they'll always be taken care of.
