Focusrite ISA One: Focusrite. . . Is. . . GO!!!
The ISA One is a new, single channel mic pre modeled after both the classic "lunchbox" style mic pres like the UA Solo 610 and Virgil Tracy's Thunderbird 2. The ISA One is basically a portable version of the same preamp that was on-board Focusrite's Forte console [that would be the ISA110 for all you history buffs].
In addition to being a classy mic pre, the ISA One has a balanced line input [XLR and 1/4"] for an independent D.I. Channel. The D.I. path has a dedicated gain control, active or passive impedance switch, a TRS Jack output for routing to an amp, and an independent XLR output on the rear, meaning the ISA One can be used to blend direct and miked signals through the same preamp architecture.
The many handy features of the ISA One include:
- Variable impedance control.
- Insert point between the pre amp and D.I. stages.
- Phantom power, phase reverse and high pass filter.
- VU metering with variable calibration.
- Dedicated headphone output.
Plus, the ISA One would probably come in handy in a riot, thanks to it's metal chassis and stout top-mount handle. It's a pacifier of demanding vocalists and troublesome activists alike!
