STEPHANIE SEIMOVICH: Hi. My name is Stephanie Seimovich and I am with Focusrite and Novation, and I’m going to tell you about a brand-new unit that we have by Focusrite called Liquid Mix.

Liquid Mix is a FireWire DSP processor and it uses the same type of dynamic convolution as we used on our previous success, the Liquid Channel. The Liquid Mix will run up to 32 tracks of both compression and EQ. You will get about 40 compressors and 20 EQs to choose from. We will also have more on our web site eventually. The nice thing about these compressors is that you can take a classic compressor and upload it into the Liquid Mix and you can add features to that Liquid Mix. We have a compressor up here on the computer screen, and this one, this compressor doesn’t have attack and release for example. So now you can just press on free mode and now you’re adding attack and release to that compressor, so you’re taking in an already beautiful compressor and making it even better. Same goes for the EQ section. You can upload a classic EQ and then take a specific band section out of another EQ and now you can add up to seven bands to that EQ.

Let me show you all of the different compressors that comes in the Liquid Mix. All you do is just click here and a drop-down menu comes, and as you see there is a bunch of different compressors to choose from, and there will be more to come. And if you want to see all the EQs, you can press there and that’s how you can see all of the different EQs that comes with it.

All right. The Liquid Mix, as I said, will run up to 32 tracks simultaneously, and that’s up to 48 kHz. If you want to record at 96, it’ll probably be about eight, and then 192 you will get two tracks. We also have an expansion card available for the Liquid Mix and that will double the 96 and the 192 so you will get 16 at 96 and 4 at 192.

Liquid Mix comes with both VST and Audio Unit. It also ships with its own VST wrapper to RTAS so you can use the Liquid Mix with any application including Pro Tools. Next, you can control everything through either the Liquid Mix hardware or through the software GUI. This one is on the water and it should be available soon in all of the stores, and we’re very happy to release this product. Thank you very much.
